2020 has already been started and I know it is not easy to start the journey of weight loss. But who are you looking up to? Hey, it’s you only who can start off the things. No more resolutions, no more procrastination.

1- Start with walking

Do you remember the quote of the great Martin Luther King Jr.? Here it is-“If you can’t fly then run if you can’t run then walk if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward”.

Yes, that’s what you have to do. Take the first step towards your weight loss journey. Just start walking. Wake up in the morning and go for a walk.

2- Increase the momentum gradually

After making habits of waking up in the morning and stepping out of your room, increase the momentum gradually. Start running for few meters.

This is exactly what I did when I started my fitness journey. One day I woke up in the morning very early and just walked only for 20minutes. The morning, cool wind and the whole environment, I felt very good and amazing.

So from the next day onwards, I started running at least 1 km a day. It has been 4months now since I started with my journey and now I run around 3-4 km daily.

3- Join the runners’ group

If you are the person who always likes the company of someone to do something. Well, you can do that. There are fitness freaks everywhere nowadays.

Whether you live in an urban area or semi-urban area or in some societies, you can find the people everywhere. Step out of the room and interact with the runners and join them next onwards.

It is the era of social media and you can find so many groups/pages on Facebook and Instagram based on your locality.

4- Join a gym

Even then if you are not motivated enough to start by yourself, join a Gym. When you will join the Gym you will come to know about all the fitness giants in your area.

Make them friends and as they say, “If you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar”. Once going Gym becomes a habit, believe me, it is the greatest intoxicant in a good sense.

If you don’t like to go to the gym, you can have your own set of gym-setup at your home.

5- Stop your bad eating habits

Bad eating habits are like holes in the pitcher which you trying to fill by putting so much hard effort, but all go into vain.

Stop eating too many sugary meals and drinking beverages. Reduce the frequency of eating outside (junk foods, Pizza, etc.) to once in a while. Add a lot of fiber in your meals.

6- Start playing games

Playing games can be the best workout for the day. If you don’t want to go the hard way and also want to enjoy there is no better option the playing a game and it will definitely help you to reach closer to your weight loss goal.

You can choose games like Badminton, table tennis, etc. I personally choose badminton because it provides a whole workout to the body.

7- Join Yoga/dance classes

Are you a music/dance lover. It can be fun with fitness. What are you waiting for then? Just go and enjoy.
